Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Birmingham policeman killed in the line of duty this week. Visitation for Sgt. Wytasha "Wyt" Carter is scheduled for Friday, noon-6 p.m., at Ridout's Trussville Chapel on Gadsden Highway. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11, at the BJCC. Carter was shot to death early Sunday while investigating car burglaries in the 900 block of Fifth Avenue North. A second officer was critically injured. Police arrested two suspects. An 18-year old was released without being charged with a crime. A second suspect, identified only as a 31-year old man, remains in the hospital.
