Alabama Lawmaker Pushes Term Limits

An Alabama congressman is making a new push for term limits.   Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-Fairhope) has introduced a Constitutional amendment limiting to 12 years the amount of time a person may serve in the House or Senate.   "I believe that these positions that we hold here in Washington belong to the people, and not to us," Byrne said.   "And I do think it's good for there to be a little freshening of the blood from time to time.   It also holds us more accountable."  Byrne's bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
