Pompeo: Hoover "ISIS Bride" Banned from U.S.

The so-called "ISIS bride" from Hoover, Hoda Muthana, is not an American citizen, and is barred from entering the U.S., Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Wednesday. The woman and her lawyer claimed that she is a citizen. But Pompeo said Muthana "is not a U.S. citizen and will not be admitted into the United States. She does not have any legal basis, no valid U.S. passport, no right to a passport, nor any visa to travel to the United States." President Trump tweeted: "I have instructed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and he fully agrees, not to allow Hoda Muthana back into the Country!"

Muthana was born in the U.S. to a foreign diplomat, and therefore cannot claim citizenship under the 14th Amendment.

Muthana left the U.S. in 2014, and later called for terrorist attacks on America. She now says she regrets her decision to join the terrorist group, and wants to return. Muthana is being held by U.S.-allied forces in Syria.
