Alabama's junior senator, Doug Jones, Thursday endorsed Joe Biden, after the former Vice President announced his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. Jones was among four Democratic senators to announce support for Biden. Jones cited what he called Biden's ability to "bring people together to find common ground while standing up for what he believes is right." Republican reaction to Jones's announcement was swift. "Senator Jones and Vice President Biden are 'two of a kind,'" Alabama Republican Party Chairman Terry Lathan said. "Both support bigger government, ObamaCare and abortion – all issues the majority of Alabamians oppose."
