A man was sentenced Monday to life in prison for a Shelby County murder. Adam Burrus, 39, was found guilty of shooting Connie Woolweaver at her home in Highland Lakes in December, 2016. Prosecutors say Burrus owed Woolweaver, 37, more than $100,000. He decided to kill Woolweaver, a mother of two, to get out of paying the debt, investigators said. The woman's then-13-year old son, who testified at the hearing, found her body, after arriving home from school. The boy's grandmother said that the case has been especially difficult for him.
