Another day of potentially dangerous heat was forecast for Alabama on Tuesday. An Excessive Heat Warning was in effect for areas in west Alabama and locations along and south of I-20. The heat index in some places in the warning area was expected to hit 115 degrees. Jefferson and Shelby counties, and areas to the north and east, remained under a Heat Advisory, with feels like temperatures reaching as high as 108. The public was advised to take precautions when spending time outdoors.
