Human Remains Likely Missing Homewood Student: Investigators

Human remains believed to be those of a missing college student from Homewood were found Monday, authorities said. "I can confirm that human remains have been found in Macon County and we have good reason to believe they are that of Aniah Blanchard," Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes said. The remains of Blanchard, 19, were found in Macon County. Auburn police said the remains were discovered several feet into the woods, off County Road 2 in Shorter. News of the discovery came on the same day that suspect Antwain "Squirmy" Fisher, 35, made his first court appearance. He and a second man, Ibraheem Yazeed, 29, are charged with abducting Blanchard from outside an Auburn convenience store last month. A third man was arrested Monday. David Johnson was charged with hindering prosecution. Two other men, 29-year old Ibraheem Yazeed and Antwain "Squishy" Fisher, 35, are facing kidnapping charges.
