Hoover Robbery Suspect Dead

The suspect in a Hoover robbery has been identified as the same man killed in a shootout with police following an interstate chase this week. 32-year old Timothy Hogland of Adamsville was shot to death after he pulled a gun and opened fire on officers in Blount County on Tuesday, investigators said. Hogland was a suspect in a Graysville murder.

Police received numerous tips identifying Hogland as a potential suspect in the robbery of a woman Monday at a BBVA Compass ATM on Highway 31 after surveillance images were released to the public, authorities said. Hoover detectives say they met with ALEA investigators and located physical evidence linking Hogland to the crime. There are no additional suspects involved in the Hoover robbery and the case is now closed, police said.
