A baby was abducted from a home in Fairfield on Tuesday, authorities said. The mother told sheriff's deputies that she put the 4-day old infant down for a nap while she also went to sleep, and when she later awoke, the baby was gone. Chief Deputy David Agee said that a suspect, known to the family, was taken into custody. The baby was later found safe, family members said.
