A possible road rage shooting on Thursday injured three people including a child, Birmingham police said. The incident began as two vehicles traveled in the Crestwood area. As the cars entered the 4400 block of Fourth Avenue South near Avondale, shots were fired by a man hanging out the window of a white sedan, Sgt. Rod Mauldin said. The targeted vehicle wrecked, hitting a pole, coming to rest about a block later, Mauldin said. The child, a 6-year old boy, was rushed to Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two adults in the same vehicle were taken to UAB. The adult victims' injuries were not life-threatening, Mauldin said. More than 10 shots were fired, investigators said. Authorities were conducting a manhunt for the suspect Thursday evening. "We do believe this person is definitely armed and dangerous," Mauldin said.
