A deliveryman accused of dumping FedEx packages into a ravine will face charges, authorities said Friday. The Blount County Sheriff identifies the driver as 23-year old Deandre Charleston of Adamsville. Deputies say Charleston was working for a FedEx contractor when he illegally dumped hundreds of boxes on five separate occasions. Investigators say the packages contained about $40,000 worth of goods. Sheriff Mark Moon says the suspect expressed remorse, claiming he he was distraught over a recent death in the family. "I hope this is a life lesson that can change him, give him a better work ethic," Moon said. Charleston was fired, but has since found employment making deliveries for another company, Moon said. Charleston will be charged with felony cargo theft.
