An armed robbery in Hoover Friday afternoon triggered a lockdown, police said. The robbery was reported at the Walgreens pharmacy on Ross Bridge Parkway around 2 p.m., investigators said. The robber took off, and the ensuing manhunt led to a partial lockdown at nearby Deer Valley Elementary School, which delayed dismissal until approximately 4 p.m. Police were looking for a suspect described as a black male, medium height, in his 20s or 30s.
