Alabama coach Nick Saban is endorsing the Democrats' controversial voting bill. In a letter to his childhood friend -- Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W. Va.) -- Saban called the measure “urgently needed legislation that will protect both the rights of voters and the integrity of outcomes in all Federal elections.” Manchin supports the bill, but won't change filibuster rules to get a vote. Republicans are united in opposition to the measure, saying it amounts to a federal takeover of elections. GOP lawmakers contend the legislation would make cheating easier by gutting Voter ID laws, allowing ballot-harvesting, and restricting updates of voter rolls.
