Hoover police are charging a man with the murder of his girlfriend, who was found dead in her apartment over the weekend. Cortez Warren, 32, was arrested following a chase on I-65. Detectives say he killed Madison Shea Pilkington, 25. She died from blunt force trauma, investigators said. A family member on Saturday discovered Pilkington's body at her apartment at the Halston apartment complex in Hoover, after she failed to show for work at Baumhower's Victory Grille in Vestavia Hills. Warren was charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and marijuana possession. He was being held at the Jefferson County Jail on $262,000 bond.
