A Blue Alert was issued Friday, after a corrections officer disappeared in the line of duty. Authorities in Lauderdale County say they are looking for Assistant Director of Corrections Vicki White and inmate Casey White, who is no relation. The sheriff's office says the pair left the county jail Friday, headed for the courthouse. They never arrived. Authorities later found the vehicle in which they were traveling, parked at a shopping center in Florence. Casey White was facing a capital murder charge. Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly says he is “extremely concerned,” and called it “a very dangerous situation.” The FBI is assisting local and state authorities in the search. The sheriff's office says anyone who spots the pair "should contact 911 immediately and DO NOT APPROACH!"
