SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey Thursday issued a rare public reprimand of two league coaches, Alabama's Nick Saban and Texas A&M's Jimbo Fisher, over a war of words. It began Wednesday night in Birmingham, where Saban, in criticizing Name, Image, and Likeness rules, said this about the Aggies' 2022 recruiting class: "A&M bought every player on their team. Made a deal for Name, Image, and Likeness. We didn't buy one player." An angry Fisher on Thursday fired back. "It's despicable that a reputable head coach can come out and say this, when he doesn't get his way, or things don't go his way. The narcissist in him doesn't allow those things to happen," Fisher fumed. Saban apologized for singling out Texas A&M. Sankey, in issuing his reprimand, said the men's comments violated SEC bylaws.
