The Senate on Wednesday approved the CHIPS Act. The vote was 64-33. Supporters say the bill aims to boost domestic production of computer chips. Sens. Richard Shelby and Tommy Tuberville voted against the bill. "I will not support legislation that uses hard-earned taxpayer dollars to provide corporate welfare to massive, profitable companies," Shelby said. "These companies can afford to expand on their own. They do not need subsidizing." The bill now heads to the House.
