Marshall Announces Senate Run

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall on Thursday launched a campaign for the U.S. Senate. The Republican told the Washington Examiner he is running because "the nation needs strong conservative leadership." He says that includes working with President Donald Trump to secure the border, along with initiatives to make communities safer, protect children, and boost the economy. Marshall noted that he has taken action on many of those issues as attorney general since 2017. Marshall, 60, launched his campaign two days after Sen. Tommy Tuberville announced he was vacating the seat to run for governor.
