SEC Media Days 2017 - Day 3

Before you jump into today's coverage, check out our coverage of previous days to find out what you missed.

Day 1 (Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee): https://goo.gl/kvp17c

Day 2 (Georgia, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Florida): https://goo.gl/w53a5R

8:00 AM - Day 3 Begins now! And so does the circus...the media circus that is. Ringmaster Nick Saban enters the building shortly with three outstanding players and they take the podium in less than an hour. Stay tuned here all day for updates from Alabama, Mizzou, Kentucky, and Texas A&M. Happy Football!

9:15 AM - Starting for Alabama, is Senior Offensive Lineman Bradley Bozeman. Bozeman is a huge key for this line in 2017. He stepped up last year and lead the way at whatever position he was called to play. Don't expect anything less from Bozeman this season.

"I'm ready for the challenge against anyone who lines up in front of me" - when I asked Bradley who he doesn't like to see across from him in practice. It is very easy to see why he will be one of the clear leaders of the O-Line.

9:25 AM - Star Wideout Calvin Ridley is next. This will be the first and last media days that Calvin will be at as a player. He will be in the NFL at this time next year. In my opinion, he is first round talent and with a successful Jalen Hurts this year he can be just that.

Ridley's brother is a sophomore at UGA. He says "I just want him to be successful and stay out of trouble"...sounds like a very good big brother.

He says the National Spotlight doesn't affect him. Makes him want to go harder and score every time he touches the ball.

9:35 AM - Defensive Back Minkah Fitzpatrick is the last of the Tide players today. He will be the leader in a secondary full of talent. Can they put it all together this year?

"There is good football in New Jersey but not like here in Alabama" - when asked about the Iron Bowl Rivalry.

9:45 AM - Head Coach Nick Saban is next.

As expected, the first few questions for Coach were all dealing with off the field issues. He has become more of the elder statesman at these events and gives the State of the SEC Address.

If you are looking for X's and O's, a Nick Saban media days talk is not for you.

"These guys that are transferring out as underclassmen...they tend to fear their future. That is they don't get to a certain point by the end of year 1 or 2 and they find out once they leave to head to another program...it wasn't what they expected it to be."

"Our number one goal is to help people to be successful in life"

9:55 AM - Our time with Mizzou starts now. First up is Quarterback Drew Lock. You have to feel a little for Drew as this room cleared out quickly as Saban left.

"Numbers aren't enough. You have to produce and win football games to be known in this conference" - Great thoughts from this guy.

He has an opportunity to be a great SEC QB this season.

10:15 AM - Next up, Senior LB Eric Beisel for Mizzou. Beisel's first thoughts echo what I heard from Lock. This is the team that wants to turn around the legacy of Mizzou football. Seems like a true leader of this defense.

10:25 AM - The last player up for Mizzou is senior WR J'Mon Moore. He will be the most explosive target for QB Drew Lock this season. This tandem could hook up for many yards and TDs in 2017.

11:05 - Mizzou Head Coach Barry Odom is our last visit of the morning before a 2 hour break. The biggest question for Coach Odom - what are the expectations for this team? Can they win the East this year or is this another year near the bottom of the standings? Only time will tell for Coach Odom and the Tigers.

1:05 - Junior Safety Mike Edwards joins us next. Edwards played 4 sports in high school - that propelled him to the work effort that he needs to be a college football player.

Edwards believes Kentucky could make some noise in the SEC East this season.

1:15 PM - Kentucky QB Stephon Johnson comes in after Mike. He played well last season and he will need to again to compete for the SEC East.

"We want to be great on the field and off the field"

1:25 PM - Kentucky's Senior LB Courtney Love had some fun as he came in right after Stephon. Even had a chance to step in like one of us and ask him a question. These guys are just having a good time. No stress in any of the Kentucky players.

This should be a fun team in Lexington to watch this season.

1:40 PM - Head Coach Mark Stoops wraps up our coverage of Kentucky.

2:00 PM - Texas A&M wraps up our Day 3 Coverage. Koda Martin, Christian Kirk, and Armani Watts came in to represent the players.

Koda did his best Boston accent due to his O-Line coach being a die hard Boston guy.

Christian will win many awards this season and will be a solid NFL WR. Guys just looks like a star.

Armani anchors a defense that will need to earn their stripes this year for A&M to be a success in the SEC.

We wrap up with Coach Sumlin - who may have the hottest seat in the SEC West. Sumlin needs a successful season this year or else he could be in the unemployment line next winter.
